Do you understand the compatibility according to Darapada A7 correctly?

Many astrologers believe that Darapada shows only partnership relationships. In fact, the concept of arudha-pada is much broader and applies to the entire environment.

Expanded Understanding of Darapada

Let us remember that Darapada is Arudha pada of the 7th house, abbreviated as A7. Although the 7th house of the horoscope is related to marriage in general, the spouse will not show Darapada, but Upapada, or arudha of the 12th house, since marriage implies an obligation to the ancestors (12th house) to fulfill a duty, namely, to produce offspring.

Usually, Darapada is used to study partners in business relationships (business) or in sex (lovers). However, A7 covers a much wider social circle.

Darapada will show those with whom the native would like to communicate.

How to view compatibility by Darapada

The Darapada connection should not be between Lagna or Moon of one and the A7 of the other. The connection should be directly between their Darapadas.

As an example, let’s take a native with Taurus Ascendant.

Example 1 of compatibility according to A7

In the seventh house there is the sign Scorpio with dual control, therefore the native has two A7:

  • the first from Mars is in the 4th house in Leo;
  • the second from Ketu is in the 11th house in Pisces together with Venus.

All those who have A7 in their natal chart associated with Leo, Pisces or with Taurus and Libra ruled by Venus have strong compatibility with the native as per Darapada.

If in the chart of the native’s work colleague from the above example A7 stands with Jupiter or Ketu, then the two of them will find it interesting to communicate with each other, since Jupiter and Ketu are the rulers of the sign of Pisces.

Below is one of the variants of such a chart with A7 in conjunction with Jupiter.

Example 2 of compatibility according to A7

In turn, the second native will enjoy communicating with those whose A7 is either in Capricorn or in the signs of Jupiter – Sagittarius or Pisces.

What does compatibility according to Darapada give?

The presence of the above connection on A7 shows that such people like to communicate, like to spend a lot of time with each other. And here there may be no indication of romance at all. Darapada is not necessarily related to romance.

It could be a relationship between

  • brother and sister,
  • parent and son/daughter,
  • colleagues at work,
  • the boss and subordinates,
  • neighbors in the house,
  • mentor, guru and his disciples.

It is a great luck if the native’s spouse is one of those with whom he/she enjoys communicating. Ideally, there should be compatibility between spouses according to both Upapada and Darapada. If this is not the case, then a situation is possible when Upapada and Darapada do not work together.

The native always marries Upapada. But the one with whom the native wants to associate is shown by Darapada.

The best way to learn any principle of Jyotish is to study it through your own example, through the examples of your loved ones, relatives, and colleagues.

Check who in your circle is compatible with you by Darapada. And also check how your loved ones are connected through Darapadas.

It is easy to finalize that people with two Darapadas and a large number Graha in them will have potentially more people in their environment with whom they enjoy communicating. Those who have only one Upapada in a sign with one ruler and no grahas in it have fewer opportunities for compatibility according to A7.
