These are the imaginary points in the sky.
Nectar was to be obtained by churning the ocean. In the process, nectar was churned out. When the nectar was being served to the gods, a demon, disguised as the God, and sat between the Sun and the Moon in an attempt to acquire the nectar. The demon was recognized by the Sun and the Moon who complained of the demon to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu immediately severed his head from his chakra. But the demon had already absorbed sufficient nectar to make him eternal. The head of the demon, known as Rahu, became immortal. And the lasting body of the demon was known as Ketu. Ever since Rahu and Ketu became the strong enemy of Sun and Moon. Sun and Moon eclipses occur due to Rahu and Ketu who swallow up Sun and Moon when they come near to them. In this way, Rahu and Ketu take their revenge from Sun and Moon.
The places of the intersection where the Moon’s path meets the Sun’s path are known as the North Lunar Node and South Lunar Node respectively. Thus, the relation of Rahu and Ketu with Sun and Moon has been described through the language of the symbol in Hindu mythology.
Rahu is a powerful and malefic planet. This is a favorable planet for the politicians. He gives them a great opportunity and power to rise in politics through any means fair or unfair. He also rules over robbers, prison, wizards, serpent, toxin, and separated places, etc. Rahu has also the power to confer sudden wealth. When Rahu is in the first house and it is only head it never be satisfied as it doesn’t have anybody with him whatever he eats goes infinite space then he eats and eats. Very interesting information about the background of Rahu.
Back in 2011 during the time of a lunar eclipse, I read a news article about the myth of Rahu swallowing the moon.
So I had one of the characters in my vampire novel Magog Rhys Petley (who was a British Labour MP) bitten by Rahu on the night of the lunar eclipse.
The result of the bite is that it turned Magog Rhys Petley into a werewolf.
But he turned into a werewolf not only during the full moon but also when he became overly sexually excited.
The only antidote to preventing his turning into a werewolf was drinking buttermilk.
