An intelligence quotient (IQ) Vs Emotional quotient (EQ) or emotional intelligence

Emotional quotient (EQ) or emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of oneself, of others. An intelligence quotient (IQ) is a score derived from one of several standardized tests designed to assess intelligence.IQ is used to determine academic abilities like Ability to learn, understand and apply information to skills, logical reasoning, word comprehension, math skills etc.

The skills that distinguish star performers in every field, from entry-level jobs to top positions most important factor is not IQ, academic degrees, or technical expertise, but the quality of emotional intelligence. Self-awareness and the ability to communicate and influence, to initiate and accept change. The higher upward the career ladder you go, the more vital these skills become. The good news about it is that We all possess the potential to improve our emotional intelligence–at any stage in our career.

Nowadays People become like a computer, able to step through a decision but unable to assign any values to the possibilities. You have no preference at all in taking most of the decision making. Your ‘gut feel’ disappears, there is no emotional experience to draw on. So you lose the ability to make good personnel decisions, as they require access to our feelings.

Empathy is the awareness of the feelings and emotions of other people. It is a key element of Emotional Intelligence, the link between self and others heart because it is how we as individuals understand what others are experiencing as if we were feeling it ourselves.Empathy goes far beyond sympathy, which might be considered ‘feeling for’ someone. Empathy, instead, is ‘feeling with’ that person, through the use of powerful imagination.

Sensing others feelings like what they feeling and taking a genuine interest in their concerns makes your emotional intelligence very strong which helps you in every aspect of your life. Praising people for their strengths and accomplishments, and provide genuine feedback on how to improve also build the powerful emotions so you can improve the Emotional intelligence. There are many situations which require us to help others in some way, where putting their needs center-stage may enable us to see the situation differently and perhaps offer more useful support from us.this also helps to build trust to anyone and helps to improve your emotional intelligence.
